Join us to learn how to paint a simplified version of the gorgeous clouds above the Cohutta Wilderness in acrylics! Clouds are some of my very favorite things to paint! We will explore using an analogous color scheme, learn how to create depth in a landscape painting, and practice brushstrokes with glazes before creating your OWN cloud-filled sky. All materials and cookies are included. No experience is necessary. Wine and other beverages are available for purchase. Food trucks and live music will be onsite all afternoon!

4 week session: 8/11, 8/18, 8/25, and 9/1

Great artwork starts with great drawing skills! In this class, we will cover all of the fundamental techniques using pencil, charcoal, and even oil pastels (drawing with paint!). We’ll discuss and practice:

• How to use VALUE and CONTRAST to create depth and realism in your drawing

• How to SHADE and create TEXTURE and PATTERN with various media

• How to use various GRID methods

• How to draw in PERSPECTIVE

• View historic art examples of Masters’ artwork

After this session, a new one will start on 9/29. Current students will have priority to register, and new students may join and start at the beginning! Everyone will work at their own pace through a series of lessons.
