4-week session: 8/11, 8/18, 8/25, and 9/1
Great artwork starts with great drawing skills! In this class, we will cover all of the fundamental art principles and techniques using pencil, charcoal, oil pastels (drawing with paint!), watercolor, and acrylic paint. We will start with a series of drawing exercises. We’ll discuss and practice:
How to use VALUE and CONTRAST to create depth and realism in your drawing
How to SHADE and create TEXTURE and PATTERN with various media
How to use various GRID methods
How to draw in PERSPECTIVE
COLOR THEORY application
View historic art examples of Masters’ artwork
You will move on to painting exercises once you’ve completed the fundamental exercises at your own pace.
After this session, a new one will start on 9/29. Current students will have priority to register to continue their lessons, and new students may join and start at the beginning! Everyone will work at their own pace through a series of lessons.
Fee schedule*:
$120: 5-7 students
$110: 8-10 students (max)
*I will refund you the difference when we hit the numbers above.:)
You may join late at a prorated rate if necessary. If you miss a class during a session, you are welcome to attend an Open Studio class as a make-up.:)
